Kingdom Keys/Kingdom Keys to True Worship

kingdom keys
for true worship

Keeping in the spirit of Jesus himself, this week's key to the Kingdom of God is counterintuitive just like him. In fact, it involves him. And the removal of him.

Off of the worship pedestal...

I know, I know...

For those who immediately want to unsubscribe, finish reading first.

If you have been a Christian for any amount of time, you are indoctrinated from the very beginning to worship the person of Jesus. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with appreciating, thanking, and reveling in the marvelous gifts Jesus has opened the gateway to, but if you pay close attention, he never once told us to worship him.

He always pointed the worship to the Father and blatantly said many times, "I only do what I see my Father do1". He is our prototype. Our blueprint. The Bible says, "the firstborn among many brothers2". But his goal and his mission was to restore you back into right relationship with God the Father.

Had the fall never happened, Jesus would have never entered the picture of worship in the first place. He came to restore connection and true worship between you and the Father to what you had in the very beginning.

But we, as a modern Western evangelical culture, have been caught up in worshipping the method of salvation that we don't think to back up and begin worshipping the source of the salvation.

Understandably so - when you've been told all your (Christian) life that the Father can barely stand you and "if it wasn't for the blood of Jesus..." Well, I'm here to tell you that God the Father would've gotten to you any way He could've.

There was never a point in time when He couldn't stand you, was disappointed in your sins, wanted to rain down wrath upon you, or was ready to throw you in hell, or any other of that shame-filled nonsense that the church can't stop spouting.

God always loved you.

He has always loved you with a tender love.

With a wholesome love.

With a patient love.

With a passionate love.

With a needing kinda love.

God the Father could not go on into eternity without making sure you were present with Him. And it wasn't out of duty or obligation - it was out of true wanting.

He wants you to want Him.

Not just Jesus, because he saved your soul.

Not just Holy Spirit, because she speaks all truth.

But Him. The Father.

All of Him. Because He wants all of you, too.

To worship Him, the Father, in Spirit and in truth.

Forever in your corner,
